Dead Thistles

Out walking near Warter village in the Wolds this afternoon, when I came across lots of dead thistles. The purple coloured flowers had by now given way to a bleached white droopy appearance (reminded me of a Sporran). The late low evening sun was casting a golden glow onto them, emphasizing the brown woody stems of the decaying plants.
